In February 2024, we held a public forum at the State Congress of Aguascalientes to present the legislative initiative to classify stalking as a crime, in collaboration with Congresswoman Leslie Figueroa. During the event, we shared data, testimonies, and comparative legal frameworks that highlight the urgent need to recognize stalking as a serious form of violence that threatens women’s lives and freedom.
At Nosotras para Ellas, A.C., we value these legislative dialogue spaces that help shed light on forms of violence that are still not fully recognized in many states. We hope that, with political will and the support of civil society, we can move forward in passing this initiative and take another step toward a life free from violence for women in Aguascalientes.
